Conférence : Du Mékong à la Vézère, les Oubliés de l'Histoire

Organized by the Comité Culturel de Cénac-et-Saint-Julien, this talk by photographer Miche LECAT traces the history of Indochinese workers in Périgord, "recruited" between 1940 and 1948 at the Bergerac powder factory. Long forgotten, this page of French colonial history is beginning to be recognized and is an integral part of local memory. This talk, accompanied by a projection, looks back at their presence in the Dordogne, their living and working conditions, the constraints they endured, and the links they forged with the local population.
